Dean Valentin is ancient and drinks the blood of living creatures throughout the bayou. Valentin is a kind of sangromancer—he receives visions from the blood he consumes, which he uses to learn things about a creature or place. He has no qualms about exploiting the bayou’s creatures for personal gain.

Valentin’s classes focus on dissection and decay. He and Dean Lisette often clash over his cavalier treatment of animals, but that hasn’t stopped her from using his discoveries for her research.

She works as a groundskeeper at the Strixhaven Stadium, where she takes great pleasure in using magic to blight undesirable vegetation on the field.

Dinah is helpful, sweet, and well-liked by her peers. As a dryad, she shares a deep connection with nature, and Sedgemoor is like a second home to her. After she graduates, Dinah hopes to return to her home realm of Faerun to advocate for the forests and wilderness there, as cities have begun to encroach on nature.

A talented healer, Dinah doesn't ask questions if students come to her with wounds that need tending. Even though she's an RA, she considers her duty more to her fellow students than to any rules of the university. She'd rather students come to her when they're hurt than avoid her for fear of punishment.

Towering over most students, Melwythorne strikes an imposing figure, especially given the branches that grow from his head like antlers. Melwythorne had never been away from his grove before coming to Strixhaven and has found the transition to university life difficult. However, since he joined the Intramural Silkball Club, this close-knit surrogate family has helped him deal with his homesickness.

Though Giada was born in New Capenna and at one time was even a favorite of the Cabaretti enforcer Jinnie Fay, she has long since been removed from that world. Spirited away by a kindly adventurer, she has been in hiding from the Cabaretti ever since.

That life is behind her, though: now she lives as an aspiring healer in the plane of Faerûn. Coming to Strixhaven to hone her abilities has been great for her social skills, too, and now she's known as a friendly if slightly aloof presence in the Witherbloom gardens.
